SIMONNE MARIE CLEMENTINE MOURANT (nee TRUDEAU) August 17, 1923 - February 11, 2014 Peacefully, at the age of 90, Simonne passed away with family by her side, on February 11, 2014, at The Villa Youville, in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. She lived an energetic full life, in good health until the last month. She was predeceased by her husband, Achille (Archie) of 47 years; her son Daniel; her parents Ubald and Maria Trudeau; her sister Armande and brother Germain. Simonne is survived by her son Richard and wife Arlene; grandchildren Derek and Colleen of Winkler, Manitoba; daughter-in-law Liza of Labroquerie, Manitoba; sister Laurette of Burns Lake, British Columbia; as well as numerous relatives. Simonne was born in Lorette, Manitoba, where she lived until her twenties. She moved to Ste. Anne with her parents where she met and married Archie in 1950. They raised their family and farmed in Dufresne, Manitoba. Simonne remained on the farmstead until October 2010, when she became a resident of The Villa. She was very energetic and could not sit still. Simonne loved the outdoors, her plants, flowers, cutting grass on her John Deere riding mower, trimming and cutting down trees on her five acre property, chopping and hauling wood for winter and shoveling snow. Rough and tough she was, at 80 she put the average middle aged person to shame. God only knew what you would find her doing if you stopped in. She enjoyed going for rides in the country, fishing and camping. She loved going to auctions and garage sales with Archie. We would like to thank Dr. Lemoine for his care and Soeurs Irene Rioux and Celine Vermette for the spiritual support they provided. The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to The Villa Care Team for all their loving care and support. Merci. As we all know Simonne would always have a comment and made people laugh. She was a devil of a woman. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6, or a charity of your choice. Mom - Simonne, We will miss you. Rest in Peace "On the Go.. On the Go.. On the Go." Funeral services will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., with interment following at a later date. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My favorite memory of Aunt Simonne was when I was around age 7. Uncle Allen was in from Vancouver and my Grandma and Grandpa Mayer (Lenore & Johnny) had a party for him in their basement. I remember her wearing a burgandy velvet blazer with a fancy broach, looking very nice. Everyone was there, and all were very jovial. Lots of laughs and good times. I remember her having a great time. - Posted by: Dawn Mayer Dome (Great Niece) on: Feb 16, 2014

  • Millie and I had the opportunity to spend some relaxed fun time with Simonne and Archie. They were fine fun people with a very nice family. May God be with you and may He give you His strength through this trying time. - Posted by: Ben and Millie Sveinson (friends) on: Feb 15, 2014
