Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My belated condolences to the Wolters family and Anita. As I handled the bakery relief help, I talked to Zip many times over the phone and meeting him over the years at his store. When there was a bakery meeting, it was fun to watch and hear the bakers from the different countries they were from, discussing and kidding each other who made the better bakery products. One particular discussion was about the shortbread between Zip saying to John Boyle that the Dutch shortbread was better than than the Scottish shortbread. Zip was one of few bakery managers that was able to achieve the 5% of bakery sales to store sales. He ran a very successful operation at the Henderson Hwy and Bronx Safeway store. I have fond memories of Zip and sorry to read about his passing. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Colin Dederick (fellow Safeway worker) on: Aug 08, 2020

  • It's with my deepest sympathy and understanding that our thoughts are you with and your families. When we worked together at co-op and superstore you spoke of your father often. The times you shared. Choose a memory that brings a smile to your heart, and cherish that time as the days to come will be hard. • To the Wolters family. So sad to hear of your husband/ father passing. I always enjoyed seeing him and visiting when I worked in Flin Flon. He was the most pleasant man, we all enjoyed him. My sincere sympathy to all. Ellie from Cranberry - Posted by: Ellie Donald (Friend from Flin Flon days) on: Feb 24, 2014
