OLGA PAUCHOK (JEDYNAK) October 20, 1923 - February 28, 2014 Peacefully, on the morning of February 28, 2014, Olga passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. She is survived by daughter Myrosia Chimuk, son-in-law David Chimuk and granddaughters Alexa and Larysa. Also surviving is the last of her siblings, her sister Janina in Poland, as well as many nieces and nephews in North America and abroad. Olga was predeceased by five of her siblings. She was also predeceased by her husband Sylvester in 2003. Olga was born in a village in Lemkivshchyna in Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada and in 1961 married Sylvester. She worked at Holy Family Home until 1964 when her only child was born. At this time she made the decision to devote all of herself to her family. Olga took great pleasure in her flowers and her huge garden. She also loved animals. She could be seen climbing the fence to put food in the trees for the birds and the squirrels. She would always be finding stray cats in the neighbourhood that were hurt and nurse them back to health. We always had a "Moorko" in our life and in fact, her granddaughters referred to her as Baba Moorko. Olga was devoutly religious and although illness often prevented her from going to church, she would often be found sitting quietly and praying. When her granddaughters were born, they became the joy in her life. The girls would go into the garden with Baba to pull carrots, wash the mud off and eat them. She'd also have special "popsicles" in the freezer every time they came over. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5 at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. with Fr. V. Bashutskyy officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations in Olga's memory may be made to Blessed Virgin Mary Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Home for their exceptional care and love. Thanks also to Dr. T. Babick for his care during Mama's stay at Holy Family. We also thank the wonderful staff at Seven Oaks Hospital 3rd floor, unit 6 for their gentle and loving care in her final weeks. Finally, thanks to Fr. Bashutskyy for his visits and prayers. I want to let you know, I did find your parents' plots through the church and have visited them. Take care from your childhood neighbor and friend, Janina Walenciej Seidel - Posted by: Janina Seidel (Walenciej) (Friend) on: Jul 12, 2018
