SYLVIA FAY GENEST February 9, 1952 - March 5, 2014 It is with profound sadness, that the family of Sylvia Fay Genest, announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, on March 5, 2014 at 3:05 p.m., at St. Boniface Hospital. After a courageous battle with cancer, Sylvia peacefully passed away at the age of 62. Sylvia is survived by her loving husband Charles; daughters Michelle (Jeffrey), Melanie (Martin), Stephanie (Wayne), Jennifer (Daniel) and Kristen (Chris), son Michael; granddaughter Saarah; sisters Loretta (Dwight), Linda (Mel), Valerie (Hugh), Debbie (George) and Brenda (Greg), brothers Dennis (Marilyn), Lorne (Cathy), Wayne, Gordon (Pam), Wes (Kathy), Terry (Pam) and Owen (Tammara), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Leon and Julia Grendus. Sylvia expressed her love of art and craft through jewelry making, pottery, photography, drawing and knitting. She had a strong connection to nature and animals, and was most at peace in her garden where her light shined brightest. In memory of Sylvia, a Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the St. Vital Knights Villa, 537A St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg.
