Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE (ANNIE) LETKEMAN (nee WIEBE) May 9, 1936 March 2, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne Letkeman on March 2, 2014 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, at the age of 77 years. Left to forever cherish Anne's memory are children Kim, Gaye (Greg), Terry, Melodie and Trevor; grandchildren Michelle (Scott), Nicholas, Caitlin (Andrew), Jonathan, Alex, Cody and Hailey; great-grandchildren Savannah and Riley; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jim (2012), parents Wilhelm and Margaret, and by all of her siblings Bill, Frank, Johnny, Jake, Sarah, Lil, and Margaret. Mom was born in Winkler, Manitoba and raised in the town of Hochfeld. She received her schooling at a one-room schoolhouse until she left at age 15 to work at the restaurant in Manitou. She met Dad and they were married in 1953. Mom and Dad lived in Headingley and then Winnipeg, where they started their family and Mom began taking in foster kids. She had very fond memories of taking care of them all, from tiny babies to adolescents, and helping them return to their families. Anne was a second Mom to our friends and cousins and they were always over at our house while we were growing up. Mom loved family gatherings, bowling (in her younger years), curling (watching, not playing) and watching her beloved Blue Jays. She also enjoyed going on casino trips near and far. Granny Toots adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, liking nothing better than to spend time with family. Thanks to all who visited Mom in hospital during her time there, you really brightened her days. Special thanks to Patty and Megan for coming all the way from Moose Jaw and to Harmony for visiting and bringing her guitar. The singalongs brought much joy to Mom and everyone else. We will miss you so much, Mom and Gran. You leave behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy that will live on through your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be no Service in compliance with Mom's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.
