MARJORY RHULE October 4, 1930 - March 23, 2014 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces her passing. Marjory was born in Yorkshire, England and was the youngest of five children. Marjory's parents died when she was very young which had a profound impact on her sense of family and belonging. She instilled in her children the importance of family and family bonds, which is the greatest legacy that she has left them. Marjory and Ralph were married in Cheltenham, England in 1953 while Ralph was stationed with the US Air Force. Upon discharge, they returned to Ralph's home in Pennsylvania where they had four daughters. In 1968 they immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg, and had a son to complete their family. Marjory met many fellow Brits and treasured friendships began. She joined the British Wives Club to entertain, sing and perform. She sang for many years in the choir at St. Saviours Anglican Church. Her strong spiritual faith and commitment to God never wavered. She was generous and always found a way to give even when there was nothing to give. Marjory worked for Rossmere Country Club and Eaton's Department Store. Her children have many fond memories of getting on the bus and meeting Mom at work for a treat at The Grill Room in Eaton's, and the clubhouse at Rossmere. Later in life Marjory was employed by the Public Trustee of Manitoba and spent many years caring for the elderly. This was her true calling. Marjory was compassionate, kind, and treated them with much dignity and love. In return she made lifelong friends with the families of the clients she cared for. Marjory loved all animals and advocated for animal welfare. Marjory was also creative and loved to write poems and short stories. Recently, she completed a beautiful little book of poems titled "Places of the Heart", a treasured memory for her family and friends. Marjory was predeceased by siblings Walter and Joyce. Marjory is survived by her husband Ralph of 60 years, and children, Elizabeth, Cindy (Gary), Robin (Bill), Devon (Grahame), and Christopher. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Marjory also leaves behind her sisters, Gladys, and Nell in England and our "adopted" Sudanese family, Oboya, Awar, and their four children whom she loved tremendously. Funeral to be held Friday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. at McClure United Church 533 Greenwood Place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
