  • Dear Elaine, I just heard today of Eddy's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many great memories of Eddy and our time at Emergency Services. We laughed with him and it was some of the best times ever. The pasta dinners were particularly good! I used to say to him how lucky he was to have found you and he always replied "I know, she saved me." That you truly did do and he was the happiest with you. He will never be forgotten and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your entire family. I wish I could have been at the service but I'm sure you will be well supported. I hope he is fishing in the bluest waters and catching the biggest fish. Lee & Art - Posted by: Lee Mencik (co worker and friend) on: Apr 07, 2014

  • We were saddened to hear of the passing of Eddy. Ed (Red Lake Ed) was the youngest of our original waterworks gang! I remember only too well the good times had by all - baseball, cards, skiing, work - sometimes too good. I’m sure that Ed felt like the rest of us that the good old days were really good. Elaine our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Wayne & Eileen - Posted by: Wayne & Eileen Pavey (friend) on: Apr 06, 2014

  • Dear Elaine, Our family was saddened to hear of your dear Eddy's passing. What a wonderful couple you were, and we loved your joie de vivre, both of you! You were right there with our Mom when our much loved Dad passed and you gave so much support to Mom and our entire family. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. You were such a great wife and took such good care of Eddy, always with a smile and usually with a laugh. We know what an amazing family you have and they will carry you through, friends and family will love you and watch out for you, but Eddy will always be there with you...remember, we take the love with us! A big hug surrounds you until we can get togeher to share stories, have a cry and some good hugs! • Gone but not forgotten! Eddy was a true friend. He was one who if you wound up in jail he'd be beside you rather than one you'd call to get you out. Always ready for a laugh and a good time. We'll not forget the yearly ski trips to Banff and the good times on the hills as well as later off the hills. The drives to Banff with Elaine in the back seat screaming and the windows open at night with Ed & Elaine freezing! The BBQ's at your lovely home that he was so proud of. The long nights at Emergency Services with Ed helping us out wherever possible. We'll not forget that as he became ill and continued to slow down he never, at least when we were around said a word about his illness or complained about it. He was strong till the end! Elaine, out thoughts and prayers are with you and sadly as you know we'll not be there for support you but you have a wonderful group of friends and family around you to help you with that. Finally, thanks so much for the opportunity to speak to Ed before he left us. Although difficult it's something we'll never forget. We'll be In touch and hopefully get together when we get home. Love Bill & Judy. - Posted by: Bill & Judy (Friends) on: Apr 05, 2014

  • Sorry to hear of Eddys passing. He was a good friend. Eddy and I spent a lot if cold wet nights together on Emergency over the years. We also spent a lot of good times together both on and off the job. He was a mentor and a teacher and my earliest memories of him at work was he was one of the "go to" guys for problems at work with shut downs. One of my fondest and funniest memories, off the job and away from work was a Saturday morning when he asked for help returning empties. Being party central at that time (before Elaine) we used my half ton and with the help of Ian, took quite a few loads to various hotels! I'll miss him. Sorry we cannot be there for his service. ( From Mesa Az.) Vaya con Dios Edward! - Posted by: Rickey and Denise Keep (Friend and co worker) on: Apr 04, 2014
