Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIO (TONY) D'ACQUISTO Peacefully on March 25, 2014, our brother Tony passed away in Las Vegas. He was predeceased by his father Giuseppe, mother Giovanna, and sister Rose Turner. Tony volunteered in the R.C.A.F. on his 18th birthday and served five years. He retired from the CNR Transcona Shops after 35 years as a journeyman pipe fitter. He was also a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Tony is survived by his brother Dominic and Josie of San Jose, California, brother Sam and Rolly of Winnipeg Beach, sister Suzy Karnitsky, and sister Antoinette and Walter Lewandoski of Winnipeg, along with many nephews and nieces. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. RIPOSA IN PACE

I was saddened when I learned of Tony's passing. Seeing Tony's name gave me a flashback to my youth living on Hethrington Avenue in south Winnipeg. Tony and his brothers, Domenic and Sam lived one street over and were well known and iconic guys in the neighborhood. The Italian heritage was well represented on Carlaw Avenue by the D'Acquisto's, Gillotti's, Gracefo's,Marino's, Papperell's, Calligeure's & others....wonderful close families all.
