Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWINNIFRED (WINNIE) ROSE LAING With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Winnie Laing on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Carman Boyne Lodge at the age of 92 years. Left to mourn her passing is her her beloved husband Max, son Bob (Ann), daughter Doreen (Jack Bray), four grandchildren - Dennis (Lori) Laing, Lori Laing (Jack Combes), Julie Lanzone, Matthew (Susie) Bray and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents William and Linda Kinnear, infant son, Raymond, siblings Violet Tomlinson, Bill Kinnear, Walter Kinnear, May Bowen and Doris Foxcroft. Mom and Dad were married in 1942 and farmed in the Ingleside District before moving to Wingham in 1976 and then to Elm Creek in 2000. Mom was a member of the Wingham UCW for several years as well as an assistant leader of the Wingham 4H Sewing Club. She continued with her sewing and needle work hobbies. Over the years she spent many weekends curling with the ladies and always seeming to get the 9:00 p.m. draw in bonspiels. In later years her and dad took up golfing. There were many barn dances and dances held at Wingham School that were enjoyed by both Mom and Dad. She enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren. She liked travelling on trips to Vancouver, Texas, Florida and a cruise to Alaska. A service to celebrate Winnie's life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Elm Creek Community Hall at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Boyne Lodge, Box 910, Carman, MB, R0G 0N0.
