DONALD JOHN MAXIM It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, son, brother, uncle and friend Don, on April 20, 2014, at the age of 61. Don was predeceased by his father, John and brother Ken. Left to mourn are his children Kelley and Don, mother Eileen, sister Lori (Gord), sister-in-law Debbie (Lloyd), nephew Steve (Kate), as well as nieces Leslie (Chad), Carli (Joey) and Bailey. He will be sadly missed by his friends, especially Dianne and will be remembered for his humour, sharp wit and useless knowledge. Don was an avid Blue Bomber fan and enjoyed going to movies and scuba diving. Don loved all animals; he could never walk past a dog without giving it a scratch. The family would like to thank Dr. Ken Kemkaran MD, for his care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Don may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. In keeping with Don's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal funeral services. VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 668-3151

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Don and I had some good times together when we both worked for CN Rail.... did quite a bit of travelling and met good people.... Don was a good guy with a big heart... - Posted by: Lyle Umpherville (Friend and co-worker) on: May 24, 2014

  • My father was a good man with a big heart. Those who knew him were entertained by his abstract knowledge and I will miss him sorely. I remember him and my mother tricking me into beleiving that my sister and I were going to Winnipeg, but really to Cancun. We went over separately, I went with my dad: the smartass still had me convinced at Dallas that we were going to Winnipeg. It was there we went on our first dive. Later, we'd go to Airlee beach in Australia, where for a week we spent our time scuba diving the great barrier reef and had the time of our lives! Remember fondly the good times. I am a better person for knowing him. - Posted by: Don Maxim (son) on: Apr 28, 2014

  • So sorry to hear this ! My blessings go out to the family and friends. He will be missed dearly ! - Posted by: Sylvia (friend) on: Apr 26, 2014
