PATRICIA KUZINA June 18, 1922 - April 27, 2014 Pat died peacefully at Riverview Health Centre where she resided for just over two years. She is survived by her children Rose, David and Gail (Frank), grandchildren Danielle (Calvin), Joey, Kayla, Kelly, Stuart and Peri Ann, great-grandson Liam, and many nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her husband Bill, sister Anne, and brother Ted. Pat was born in the Elmwood neighbourhood of Winnipeg. She and Bill enjoyed camping, fishing and long summer road trips with their tent trailer. A special highlight was their trip to Australia to meet Pat's two lifelong penpals, a correspondence that started in elementary school. Pat loved to spend time with her grandchildren, taking them to museums, concerts and outdoor venues, and in her later years still looked forward to going out for lunch. Thanks to the staff of Riverview Health Centre (and Beacon Hill Lodge where she resided for one year) for their excellent care and service in creating a safe and compassionate environment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation. A non-religious get-together will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Tamarack Room, Qualico Family Centre, Assiniboine Park duck pond area, one of Pat's favourite places to have pancakes and dessert.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Pat was a cousin of mine through my grandpa, Dick Salby. It's not often someone with such an age gap (I'm 52) knows and loves older cousins. I still remember get togethers at the Salby's with Pat and Bill in the 1980's after I had moved to Winnipeg and before I left in 1992. She was always so kind and I enjoyed her company. She and Olga were my two favourite older cousins. I'm so sorry we had lost touch with her the past few years. Our condolences to her family from Nelson, BC, cousins Catherine, Pat and Donna. - Posted by: Catherine Hansen (Cousin) on: May 16, 2014

  • I met Pat, many years ago, in Elmwood. I was just new to Wpg., and all the Elmwood folks took us under their wing. Pat and Bill, helped us with many moves, and stayed good friends over the years. I'll miss her, as I'm sure her family will. Sincerely, Marion M - Posted by: Marion Morson ( A Friend) on: May 06, 2014

  • When I was little I remember that my very special uncle Bill met a lady and they decided to get married. I did not like that because it meant that she was going to take him away from me! I was wrong. Instead she came into our life with him—in fact Pat asked me to carry flowers for her at their wedding and that is when I knew that she was going to be my special aunt. And she was. All my life. Decades later, when I would visit my mother we would always go to visit Aunt Pat. And we would have a wonderful time. She was still very special to me. Deepest condolences to Rose, David and Gail and all others who will miss her as I will. - Posted by: Sandy Lewis (Grapentine) (neice) on: Apr 30, 2014
