MIKE KAPINUS October 31, 1930 - April 28, 2014 With great sadness we announce the passing of Mike Kapinus on April 28, 2014 at St. Boniface Hospital at 83 years of age. Mike will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his wife Albertina Marie; daughters Helen McMurren (Kevin), Janet Shave (Doug) and Lisa Pliscltke (Darcy); sons Mike Kapinus Jr. (Ling) of Oakville and Vincent Kapinus (Debbie) of BC; grandchildren Devin McMurren (Michelle) of Pinawa, Curtis-Lee McGirr (Alana) of Winnipeg, Tamara McMurren of Saskatoon, Megan McGirr (Stuart) of Red Deer, Alberta, Paris and Mitch Kapinus of Australia, and Hunter and Logan Pliscltke of Lac du Bonnet; great-grandchildren Brody McGirr and Kobie and Kane McMurren. Mike is also survived by his sister Helen Jenikova of Slovakia; two nieces and their families in Slovakia; and cousin Eva Weiss (Steve) of Michigan, USA; along with his best friends Geno Farkas and Gary Bates. Mike was predeceased by his parents Mike Kapinus Sr. and Etela; eldest sister Mary Kotuga; his nana and son Richard David Kapinus. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 3 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory can be made to the Alzheimer & Dementia Society of Manitoba.
