• When Joe informed us last year that he had cancer, it was such a shock to Sue and I, especially after having just lost our good buddy, Rob, to cancer. Joe, Rob and I always enjoyed our get-togethers at the annual Triple Crown horse racing events. I missed having both of them with me this past weekend for the Derby race. It will never be the same. Joe and I enjoyed many days and evenings working on our vehicles. He was always a phone call away if I had a problem. It was just last fall he came over to our place to help out my son replace the brakes on his vehicle. He was that type of a guy who was a great friend. My wife, Sue, would even call Joe if she had a vehicle question and/or problem. When Sue first met Joe, she couldn’t believe his name was Joe Dimaggio who lived on Easy Street. She’d say,” Really? Really? His name is Joe Dimaggio and he lives on Easy Street…yeah right.” His name and street always amazed her, in a good fun way. Joe was a quiet, thoughtful, helpful friend, who be greatly and sorely missed. Sue will miss her conversations with Joe and Rob…no more..”Hey Sue, how are ya?”, which would lead a half hour to an hour telephone conversation between them, even before I was given the phone! So, so sad...no more visits, no more phone calls. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Joyce, and the Dimaggio family during this sad and difficult time. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help, at any time. Joe would have done the same thing for us. • I was only a really close friend to Joe the past 10 years and all I can say is he was a very good friend to me and a genorous man. He was such an easy guy to get along with and I really enjoyed his company. My condolences go out to all his family.
