Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY IVAN MITCHELL February 14, 1919 - May 2, 2014 Roy passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital after complications from a fall. He is survived by daughter Carol Ann Kyliuk (Ernie), grandchildren Dr. Ryan Kyliuk, Dawn and Brad Hall, and three great-grandchildren. Roy was predeceased by his wife Doreen (nee Dawson), daughter Linda Hall, mother Annie Beatrice Mitchell, brother Aubrey, stepbrothers Cyril, Norm and Jim Reid, and sisters Beulah (Allen) and Mary (Gibson). Roy served as a Lieutenant, stationed in Vernon, BC, training troops for deployment. He returned to Winnipeg and worked at Christie Biscuits before settling at C.P. Rail as storekeeper for Weston Shops. Dad retired early and spent his winters with Doreen at their condos in St. Petersburg and Pompano, Florida. Summers were spent alternating between their home in the west end and cabins at Grand Beach and Royal Lake in Ontario. Dad loved his home where he lived on his own after Doreen's passing. I would like to thank his neighbours who kept an eye on him and assisted him with things he was no longer capable of doing. During the last few months of his life, Roy moved to Tuxedo Villa where he made several friends. We would also like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for the care and compassion they showed my dad in his final days. Following Roy's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Give Mom a kiss for me. I love you and will miss you terribly.
