ARTHUR WILLIAM GRUNDY May 23, 1926 - May 8, 2104 The family is sad to announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather on May 8, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife Betty, and his daughter-in-law Joanne Grundy. Dad leaves to mourn four children, Glenn (Connie), Brent, Jayne (Vic), Lynda (John), 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dad was born and raised in Carman, Manitoba. From 1947 - 1950, Dad was Manitoba Light Weight Boxing Champion and was 2nd in Canadian Boxing Championship. Mom and Dad started their life together in Ste. Anne, Manitoba in 1952. In 1950 Dad became District Supervisor with the Manitoba Power Commission which later became Manitoba Hydro. Some of Dad's hobbies were coaching hockey and curling, but his passion was horses! Dad was involved in the harness racing circuit in Manitoba and Alberta. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Seine River Hall in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. If friends so desire to make a donation in memory of Art, donations can be made to the Ste. Anne Hospital. Of special concern to me are Glenn and Brent who used to play ball hockey with me and other neighbours on the abandoned cement pad on the South side of the CNRail tracks in Ste-Anne.
