Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE (ALICIA) TYMCHAK 1923 - 2014 Elsie (Alicia) Tymchak passed away peacefully on April 27, 2014, at the Concordia Hospital. On the morning of her death Fr. Michael Kwiatkowski ministered to her, and her dear friend of many years, Phyllis Kwiatkowski, kept vigil at her bedside. Elsie was born on October 2, 1923, she was educated in Winnipeg and practiced her career as a Public Health Nurse working for the City of Winnipeg. She retired due to ill health in 1972. Elsie leaves to grieve her two sisters-in-law, Johanna (Zane) and Tessie (Allan), as well as many nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces, who live in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. She also had many friends with whom she kept in regular contact, and who were a source of great comfort and help to her, as well as a group of dedicated and caring home care workers. Elsie was predeceased by her brothers Zane MD (Johanna), Joseph (Rose) and Allan (Tessie). Elsie was determined to live out her life in her own home - the support of family, friends and home care made this possible. The community of faith at Holy Eucharist Church, and her trust in God, meant much to her over the years. Elsie lived a full life, enjoying the challenges of her career as a public health nurse, dedicating much of that time to the public health program in city schools. She had an extraordinary memory and kept contact with many friends and relatives, always taking an interest in the circumstances of their lives. She also took great delight in the three generations of corgi dogs that she adopted into her home. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Holy Eucharist Church (Watt St. at Munroe Ave.) Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bishop Velychkovsky Martyr's Shrine, 204-338-7321, www.bvmartyrshrine.com The family wishes to express special thanks to her circle of friends and the home care workers, all of whom constantly went the extra mile, to be a blessing in her life.
