WAYNE LUCKO 1960 - 2014 It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of our son and brother, Wayne Lucko on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at his home. He was 53 years old. He leaves to mourn his passing his parents Mike and Anne, his siblings Connie (Ken) Magura of Fargo, ND, Brenda (Stuart) Topley of Fargo, ND, and Sharon (Mark) Jones of Winnipeg, MB. He will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Wayne devoted his career to working side by side with his father in the family business. He also showed his caring nature as he always managed to make time to visit his mother on a regular basis. His visits always concluded with an "I love you mom". In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed the wild critters that visited his yard, often rescuing abandoned baby critters to ensure their survival. A special thank you to the Oak Bank R.C.M.P. and Paramedics who attended for their care and compassion. Wayne's family would like to extend their gratitude to Gerry Denisuik, his co-worker and friend, and his wife Irma for their friendship over the years. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour with interment to follow in the St. Mary Parish Cemetery. Wayne will be missed by all. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 204-268-3510 or MB Toll Free 1-877-776-2220 www.soberingfuneralchapel.com

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Wayne, We were friends for a long time... you sold me my first car when I was 17. I will always remember our memories. You were a brilliant, interesting and compassionate gentleman. I am so glad our paths crossed... you have taught me many things-you were a realist in so many ways. I know you passed in June; but I think about those who were precious to me, every year at this time. Thank you, my friend.... I will never forget you!! ♥️ - Posted by: Charlene Gardiner (Friend) on: Dec 06, 2017

  • I met Wayne in 2009/10 and we hit it off and quickly became friends. Philosopher Arthur Schopenhaurer wrote “The deep pain that is felt at the death of every friendly soul arises from the feeling that there is in every individual something which is inexpressible, peculiar to him alone, and is, therefore, absolutely and irretrievably lost.” He was such a gentle person who gave selflessly to what he supported. He had a great love for nature, animals, and helping people. His existence had a profound impact on so many. He is gone but not forgotten. I extend heartfelt condolences to his family whom he spoke about and loved dearly especially his parents and siblings. May he rest in perfect peace. - Posted by: Daisy (Friend) on: Aug 25, 2015

  • I am saddened to hear of Wayne's passing. Although I haven't seen him in many years we grew up, went to school and hung out in Beausejour many years ago but when we did happen to bump into one another it was always a great conversation. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Wayne's family and friends. Rest in peace, Wayne. - Posted by: Jan (Friend) on: Jun 15, 2014

  • Well old friend, can't ride in the grounds anymore, laughing, teasing, hoping to see you grow old and chit chat. Will miss your silly chuckle - well say hih to my father up there and don't con him into any used trucks. Well buddy, so long, farewell, you will be missed!!! • I met Wayne in 2000 during my employment in the Beausejour area. The Brokenhead River flowed through his property. He took great care with tremendous pride maintaining "environmentally green" on his property. Wayne enjoyed the wildlife that flourished on his property and the migrating fish which swam through to their spawning grounds. Unfortunately some people took this advantage by trespassing on his property to fulfil their personal needs. Wayne was a fighter and he refused to "give in" to those self serving people. He had a green thumb for planting trees to protect the river edge and he enjoyed showing to anyone who had an interest the results of his hard work. Wayne may be silent now but his spirit will carry on along the river. Rest in peace, Wayne. - Posted by: jack kowalchuk (friend) on: Jun 14, 2014
