WILHELMINA (VILLA) BERGMAN 1938 - 2014 Villa Bergman passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre. Villa graduated with a BA degree from the University of Manitoba. She then taught high school in Winnipeg, Beausejour and England. She left teaching to work in accounting for the Federal Tax Department. Villa is predeceased by her parents Jon and Anna Bergman. She is survived by her brothers Bergthor (Olive), Tom (Margaret) and Jon, as well as her many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Riverview Health Centre for the compassionate care they provided to Villa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made in memory of Villa to the Riverview Health Centre.

Villa was a valued friend of mine for a great many years. Having moved to Saskatoon some 30 years ago I continued to see her every time I was in Winnipeg. Once she left her house on Ferry St. however, we lost touch. My attempts to locate her were unsuccessful. My feelings upon reading the above are mixed - sorry to have missed visits with her which we would have had, had I known where she was, and glad to hear that she has ended her days peacefully at The Riverview Health Centre, where I know that she would have received excellent care.
