Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIMONE THERESE PELOQUIN (née DESAULNIERS) Simone died peacefully at the St. Pierre Jolys Hospital on Thursday June 26, 2014 at the age of 86 with her children by her side. She leaves to mourn her sons Claude (Diane) and René (Lynne) and her daughters Monique (Dale Hopfner), Jocelyne (Léo Préfontaine), Marcelle (Robert Lahaie), Rosemarie (Glenn Hopfner), and Paule (Jim McKenzie), her 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are Simone's sister Rachel (Aurele Hébert) and brother Marcel, sisters-in-law Marthe Arnal, Jeanne Marcoux and brothers-in-law Omer Marcoux and Alfred Goebel. She was predeceased by her husband Lionel Péloquin, her parents Roméo and Léonie Desaulniers, siblings René, Robert, Denis, Roger, Jacqueline and Yvette, and in-laws, Francois Lefevre, Olive Desaulniers, Pearl Desaulniers, Roland and Rita Peloquin, Rita Goebel, Albert and Annette Morrissette, Auguste Arnal. Simone was born September 13 1927 in St. Pierre Jolys. She was an excellent golfer and loved curling and softball. Mom was an artisan. Her children are all recipients of her beautiful quilting, crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, and tatting works of art. A well respected member of the community, she was a woman ahead of her time, having started her own businesses and working at the Red River School Division in a job that was typically held by men. We all have memories of her delicious meals and treasure her recipes. A funeral mass will be held in the St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church Wednesday July 2, 2014. Eulogy at 1:30 p.m., mass at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank all those who showed love and support for Simone. In lieu of flowers, donations to the DeSalaberry Health Center Foundation in St. Pierre-Jolys will be graciously accepted. Green Acres Funeral Home, 204-222-3241.

Although we lived far apart there's always been that conection you feel, like I have always been around we would see each other and all those years that have passed felt like days. My memories are few but treasured. I only wish you could have met Emilia, but I know you will be looking down on her. We will miss you. Je me souviens très bien des année ou j'ai travaillé avec Simone. Elle a été pour moi un grand soutien et une bonne co-travaillante. Gilbert, de sa part connaît la famille depuis qu'il est jeune. Gilbert et moi voulons envoyer nos plus sincères sympathies à toute la famille (enfants, petits-enfants et arrière petits-enfants). Nous sommes peinés pour vous tous car perdre un chère Maman est un des plus difficiles moments de la vie. Elle sera avec vous en esprit pour le restant de vos jours.
