SHIRLEY GAYLE RILEY Ever Loving GG It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Shirley Gayle Riley, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Pastor, and Friend to many on July 7, 2014 at Concordia Hospital with her beloved family by her side. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, daughter Debra and stepdaughter Maureen, as well as her brothers Morris, Donald, Terrance and Jack Fisher and sisters Alice Scott, Muriel Rody and Margaret Rowse. She will be greatly missed by her children Richard, Donalda, Ronald and Wade, stepchildren Gail (Ed), Murray and Joanne, one brother Charles Fisher, as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Gene and Raelene Fortney for all the care that they have given her so that she can stay home during her ill time. Also we would like to thank Dr. Harris and the Oncology Team at Concordia as well as Dr. Snovida, the Concordia Emergency Team and N1 South for the care and compassion through this long battle. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to CancerCare, ATTN: Look Better Feel Better Program. In keeping with GG's wishes there will be a service on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Cremation to follow.

I struggled many years with drug abuse..she prayed and prayed..my last talk with her was early 2014 that I was drug free for 2 years...still free today..thank God..she said on the phone "good I don't have to Pray for you now". Shirley, I'm so thankful I was able to meet you in 1997, and again in 2008 we talked on the phone and met again in 2009.. you always thought about me, I loved hearING the stories about my family I never met. I always meant to keep in contact with you. I'm not sure why I never did, you always welcomed me with open arms. It will always be a great regret of mine that after our phone call, in 2013 that we didn't see each other or that I didn't call you. I'm very thankful you met my wife and children. I want you to know that I always thought and cared about you, and I'm so sorry I didn't take the push to pick up the phone more often. . Rest in Peace, mum. You welcomed me into your home with open arms, a smile and a big hug, in 1996, and became the mother I didn't have. We could talk like mother and daughter, we had our ups and downs, but you were always there for me whenever I needed you. You had faith in me when I didn't have faith in myself, you helped me learn and grow, so much. When I wanted to give up, you wouldn't let me. I have met Shirley on many occassions, dedication for Hollys children..Bills funeral which she did a great job, and of course and Andy's funeral, she was an amazing woman who love our Lord very much, and now she is with him, no more pain, no more sorrow, no more tears..we will meet again for sure, My condolences to all family and friends, i pray God gives you peace in this sad time with Love , Merv Sky ooxoxoxoxx - Posted by: Sky Stotski (Friend) on: Jul 13, 2014
