Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT KOOP Robert Koop died peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Ste. Anne Hospital. After a struggle with pancreatic cancer, that beat all medical predictions, he has found his wings. Bob was born on December 16, 1941 in the family home, northwest of Landmark. Bob was predeceased by: his father William, mother Mary, brothers: Ernest and Tom; and brother-in-law Ron Beitz. He is survived by: his wife of 51 years, Hilda (Reimer), daughter Denise Pauls (Valerie Regehr), sons: Russel and Matthew (Karin); grandchildren: Dylan, Jayden, Kaya, Zane and Cole; siblings: Ron (Violet), Sid (Dora), Helen (Frank), Anne, Judy, and Wendel (Lynette); and sisters-in-law: Pat Koop and Emily Koop. Bob served as a counselor for the R.M. of Tache for almost 12 years. He worked for years in the construction industry and mentored many young men in the skills of shingling, stucco wire nailing and roughing up homes. Throughout his life he was passionate about minor sports. He coordinated the Landmark Recreation Facility and coached hockey for over 20 years. He loved to watch his sons Russ and Matthew and his grandson Zane play, and he was known for giving five dollar bills to his grandkids and their friends to spend at the canteen. His involvement with children and youth was lifelong. He was a founder of the Landmark Boys Club and spent many years coordinating the father son fishing trips. Bob loved music. Voices like Charlie Pride, Johnny Cash and Hollis Brown provided a sound track to his life. Bob enjoyed spending countless hours in the boat on Star Lake. Bob was a man of deep faith and will always be remembered for his honesty, unending generosity, kindness and patience. We want to thank our family and friends for their endless support, staff at Ste. Anne Hospital, Dr. de Moissac, staff at the Centre for Natural Medicine and Dr. Sims. The memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Heartland Community Church, Landmark, MB. Ash interment at a later date. My husband Richard and I remember Bob and Hilda fondly from our time lived in Landmark. Years after we moved to town, it was neat to discover I was distantly related to Hilda through the cousin connection her father shared with my Oma. We'd already known each other through church, her being my daughter's Sunday School teacher early on, as well as passing on the street when Hilda was out for her daily walk through town. Bob often helped us out with advice on stucco repair of our home, what to do about the ditches, and was often the friendly face at the arena when we were there for our son's hockey. We were sad to hear of Bob's illness years back, and now with his passing, our thoughts and prayers are with Hilda and the family as you grieve for your loved one but also rejoice that he is now with the Father who loves him deeply. - Posted by: Dionne & Richard Driedger (distant cousin to Hilda) on: Jul 16, 2014

Our sincere condolences to Hilda, Denise, Russell, Matthew and all of the grandchildren on the recent passing of Bob. We have known Bob for many years and one thing for sure Bob was a man who put family first. It has been an honor to have worked along side with Bob for all the years he served as Councillor. His ongoing jokes, his positive demeanour and infectious smile and laughter at the office will truly be missed. Bob truly displayed remarkable courage battling his cancer. Never complaining but always staying positive. Our loss here on Earth is Heaven's gain. God has taken a very special man to become your very special Angel. May he give you the strength to get through this very difficult time. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Roger & Janice Desmarais () on: Jul 14, 2014

My thoughts and prayers are with Hilda, Denise, Russ, Matt and their families as they start their journey without Bob - husband, father and grandfather. Bob influenced me in many ways over the years. He had a way of making you feel special, even as a young boy. He founded the Landmark EMC boys club, was my hockey coach and later on in business was a valued customer. He gave me many rides to hockey practise and never failed to bring Pepsi to the dressing room after games. Through all these phases it was always a pleasure to visit with Bob and I would undoubtedly have a better day after our conversations. Bob, you are missed already! You leave a great legacy. Your humility and genuine spirit reminded me so much of my Dad. - Posted by: Doug Reimer (Friend) on: Jul 14, 2014
