MARY STELMACH Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Stelmach was called to eternal rest on July 16, 2014 at DeSalaberry District Health Centre, St. Pierre, MB. Mom was born in Lonesand, MB on September 6, 1924. On July 9, 1943 she married Mike Stelmach and together they farmed in the Dover area until 1966. They then purchased and operated Marchand Hotel for eight years until retiring in 1974. Mom was a loving, caring, and compassionate person who would always make you feel welcome in her home. She was involved in the Marchand Community Club for many years as treasurer. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. She was always willing to exchange bulbs and gardening tips. Mom leaves to cherish her memory: three sons: Bill (Sonia), John, and Danny (Doris); one daughter Linda (Irvin), 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers. She was predeceased by: her husband of 52 years, Mike; three brothers, one daughter-in-law, and one granddaughter. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with viewing prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB, with Fr. Douglas Leclair officiating. Interment will follow at Zhoda Community Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Steinbach, Winkler and St. Pierre hospitals, for all their care and compassion while she was in the hospital. Rest in Peace dear Mother and Baba.
