He gave his heart to the Lord and was the first youth to be baptized in the Whitemouth Mennonite Church. He was a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, telling stories and singing with us. He loved farming, spending time with his pets, and having coffee with all of his friends. The family wishes to express appreciation and gratitude for all the prayers and words of encouragement from family and friends. A special thank you to the Mennonite community for all your support, and to the Whitemouth Health Care team for their care of our father. • I enjoyed the time I spent with Dan. He always had something to talk about. I know he enjoyed it when we would bring the kids to ADP or they would come visit us at Nursery School. He was a kind, gentle soul. Rest in Peace Dan. - Posted by: Teri Walker (friend) on: Jul 21, 2014

  • My deepest condolences to Danny's family. I have known Danny and his late wife Rose for many years dating back to the time they visited my parents at their Elma farm home. A kind, friendly man who loved family, animals and music. He was always so interested in local and world affairs. He will be missed by many friends in the area. - Posted by: Carol Ans (acquaintance) on: Jul 21, 2014

  • Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and/or uncle. I can't honestly say that I have ever met Danny, though I may have in my youth, but would have liked to. It is my understanding that his father and my father were cousins. I was born and raised near Steinbach, and have family in and around Greenland, Ste. Anne, Steinbach and Kleefeld. My father was Solomon P. Giesbrecht and his father was Heinrich K. Giesbrecht. • Met Rose and Dan on a 21 day bus trip out east, they have to be one of the nicest couples I've ever met. When we were in Ottawa we also met their grandson he was also super.. thought about them so often. Sorry to hear he lost his Rose. I'm sure he missed her very much but they are now together again forever.
