Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJERRY HARDER Jerry Harder, at the young age of 31, of Winnipeg, formerly of Steinbach, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 19, 2014 at his mother's home. Left to cherish Jerry's memory are: his fiancée Janalyn Martin; his parents Abe Harder and Martha Harder; his two brothers: Jeff (Audrey) and their son Ryan; Andy (Melissa) and their son Austin and their daughters: Brandy, Richelle and Isabella; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Jerry was predeceased by his grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jerry was born on April 9, 1983 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was the third and youngest son born to Abe and Martha Harder. Jerry spent his early childhood years growing up in Kleefeld, Manitoba, and then later moved to Steinbach. Jerry was a loving, caring, compassionate and happy boy. His big smile and cheerful, charismatic personality always lit up the room when he was there. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors. He liked going fishing and hunting whenever he could. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His nieces and nephews were very precious to him. Jerry struggled as a teenager and into his twenties trying to find himself. Trying to find acceptance, peace and a purpose. Jerry then entered the Teen Challenge program. He studied and read the Bible and enjoyed learning and getting to know his Lord. He was baptized on August 19, 2012 in Balmertown, Ontario. Jerry graduated from Teen Challenge and was now counseling others at the centre. He loved being a part of his Teen Challenge family. They were all very important to him. We as a family could see the spiritual growth in Jerry and his love for the Lord. They helped him to stay strong and grow closer to the Lord every day. The day before Jerry passed away, he and his fiancée Janalyn had picked out their engagement ring and were planning their future together. We as a family were excited for this new chapter of Jerry's life. We know that God must have had a greater plan for Jerry and He took him home. The viewing will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Temple, 440 Hargrave St, Winnipeg, with viewing at the church prior to the service. Coffee and time of fellowship to follow the service. Burial will take place Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hespeler Cemetery, Niverville, MB. We as a family know that Jerry, with his infectious personality, had an impact on the lives of many. Everyone who met or that knew Jerry would never forget him. He was a one of a kind. Jerry will be greatly missed, but we know he is in his heavenly home singing praises with his heavenly Father. We as a family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Bruce Ford, Pastor Steve Paulson, and Pastor Bruce Martin. You were all an inspiration to Jerry and wonderful mentors to him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jerry's memory to Teen Challenge (Winnipeg). Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030

Jerry spent time with us as he was a friend of one of our children. He was a good friend and a joy to have around. Then a time went by and we found Jerry again at Teen challenge. What a wonderful man. We are so very proud of how he overcame the odds. He became friends to another one of our children in connection to Teen challenge. Jerry your vibrance for life and your addicting smile will be missed here. But will radiate in Heaven. All our prayers to the family and his fiancee.
