ANNE KOLODY (KULACHOK)
Born: Aug 08, 1928
Date of Passing: Jul 24, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE KOLODY (nee KULACHOK) Our beloved mom and baba passed away peacefully, with her daughter Anne by her side, on July 24, 2014 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Baba was born August 8, 1928 in the village of Droznie in the Volyn region of Ukraine and immigrated to Canada with her mom, dad and five siblings to the farming area of Sifton, MB in July, 1939. At a very young age she met and wed her husband of 65 years, Nicholas Kolody, soon followed by four plus one remarkable children. Family, especially helping family, was very important to Baba. Many parcels and letters were sent over the years to her in-laws in Ukraine. Baba realized her dream of returning back to the old country with her three granddaughters where lost generations were able to reconnect. Most recently she continued to nurture her relationship with her great-great-niece, Nataliya DiDomenico. She attended her wedding to husband Domenic in Butler, PA and continued to write letters and send stickers to their two children Emma and Giovanni. Baba had many passions during her life. She loved to donate to many worthy causes no matter how large or small her donation was. Her passion for learning and interest in health and well-being was ongoing. We all benefited from her reflexology treatments and massages. She was an avid reader of self-help and health books and recently enjoyed novels from the library. Baba and Dido found great joy in their family home in Garson, MB, tending a large vegetable garden and raspberry picking. Baba loved fishing trips with the family and could hardly wait to dine on the pickerel. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She had long talks with them sharing stories and loved it when they would stay overnight. Fitness was very important to her. She joined the Wellness Centre where she regularly went to swim and take aquacise, yoga and tai chi classes well into her 80s. Even during her dialysis treatments over the last two years, she cycled as long as they would allow her and she put on many miles there. Anne is survived by her daughters, Anne, Patsy (John) Christie; son, Stephen (Veronica); daughter-in-law, Susan; son-in-law, Emile Dufault; sisters, Irene Cook and Claudia (Paul) Polischuk. She had five devoted grandchildren, Taryn (Jason), Christine, Tricia, Stephanie and Adam. Baba was sadly predeceased by her husband, Nicholas in 2009; daughter, Vera Dufault in 2005, and son, Gerald in 2009. The family would like to thank the Dialysis Team at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. Also, thanks to Home Care, and Fred Douglas Lodge for their day program. Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 29 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations (no matter how large or small) may be made to a charity of one's choice. Mrs Kolody was such a sweet lady. Her door was always open to us neighbourhood kids as we buzzed about. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Charlene (Hewitt) Eckert (Past neighbour) on: Jul 30, 2014

I am so sorry for your loss of your mom & Baba. She was a great lady. I even got to be on the receiving end of her foot reflexology! May she rest in peace with those who have gone before. - Posted by: Jodi Collins Einarsson (Family friend) on: Jul 29, 2014
