IRVIN (RICK) RICHTER 1940 - 2014 With his family by his side at the Health Sciences center, Irvin passed away on July 22 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 45 years, Jo-Ann (nee Young), his children, Tracey (Blake), Michelle (Travis), Lori (Jim), Dean (Yvonne), and Grant (Kerri-Lynn). He also leaves five grandchildren: Dustin, Amanda, Matthew, Makayla, Brendan, and his three great-grandchildren, his brother Ben (Rose), and several sister and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Irvin married Jo-Ann in 1969, and brought her to Thompson, MB where they raised their family. Dad worked for the City of Thompson, and then Manitoba Hydro until 1998. They then retired to Beausejour where he loved the country life and small town atmosphere. Dad's favourite pastimes included singing and playing his guitar. He was also an avid wrestling fan all of his life, and recently had become a huge CFL fan. The family wishes to thank Dr. Askarifar and the staff at Beausejour Hospital, and Dr. Houston and Barb at CancerCare Manitoba for the care Dad received during the past 17 months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. A funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Beausejour on Tuesday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 204-268-3510 or MB Toll Free 1-877-776-2220 www.soberingfuneralchapel.com

My condolences to the Richter Family. It was very evident that Tracey was so very proud of her father and she was in awe of her father's strength with the brave battle he fought for the last seventeen months. My thoughts and prayers are with you Tracey and your family at this very difficult and sad time. Christine Marincil - Posted by: Christine Marincil (Friend of Tracey's) on: Jul 28, 2014

I remember my dad Herb Beger used to talk about Irvin all the time, a hydro co-worker. Now you will meet again and can talk about the old hydro times. Deepest sympathies to the families - Posted by: Lori Stelmaschuk (Beger) () on: Jul 27, 2014
