Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN GORDON PALEY After a long courageous battle with cancer, on August 18, 2014, at St. Pierre Hospital with his wife by his side, Brian passed away at the age of 58. Brian was predeceased by his grandmother Kathleen, mother Helen, and his uncles Bill and Mike. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Penny, his father John, his father-in-law Larry, brother Jeff, son Brian (Rochelle), daughter Jennifer (Trevor), five grandsons Aaron, Nicholas, Ethan, Christian, and Ryan and extended family and friends. Brian was born in Winnipeg and lived part of his early childhood in Bissett, MB where he made many great memories. He married Penny in 1976 and raised two wonderful children. Brian worked for Murray Chev Olds for 35 years up until his illness. He loved gardening and tinkering around the yard, fishing in his younger years and spending time with his family at Grindstone. During the past few years he enjoyed many beautiful sunsets and roaring bonfires at his home in St. Malo. At his request, the family will be holding a private memorial service. A special thanks to the staff at Steinbach Cancer Care, St. Pierre Hospital and all the home care nurses for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

I remember Brian from Laura Secord School. He lived on Ethelbert Street, a few houses away from mine. We honed our sporting skills in football, baseball, and hockey. The summers went by quickly with other fun activities: card games, reading comic books, throwing a frisbee, bike riding, swimming, and playing with Kazan--our German Shepard buddy. Those were the fun times of grades 4, 5, and 6. For grades 7 and up, Brian joined me and my brother, John, and friend, Eugene, each day on our way to Gordon Bell School. By senior high, we found other friends and drifted away, yet I've often recalled those golden times of our youth; and even now recall those pleasant early years. I'm sorry to know of his passing; may Brian be in a new good place as his new life continues. - Posted by: Michael Weretyk (Friend) on: Jun 09, 2023
