Our condolences to the family. We were neighbors a number of years ago. We moved first, and although we have lost touch over the years our family has fond memories of Kathy, Rick and their girls. - Posted by: Ken &n Carol Hinhter (Past Neighbor) on: Aug 29, 2014

It was the wonderful teaching that Mrs Staub was famous for that my son finally learned how to read. Don't know what she did but after. 4 years of struggles he was reading full length novels by the end of his year with her!! She was a wonderful loving person. We feel blessed to have known her!!! - Posted by: Vicky Dawson () on: Aug 27, 2014

Kathy has been part of our lives for fifty years. She and Rick were like family to us and we often celebrated special holidays together. We will miss you Kathy and your friendship. We loved you dearly. - Posted by: Lorne and Arla Everett (Friend) on: Aug 25, 2014

For many years Kathy was part of a group of six or eight of us who golfed at Rossmere. I often was in a group. just behind hers and we would laugh about knowing it was Kathy teeing off because her driver made a very distinct pinging sound. She was so proud of those clubs because they were given to her by one of her students. The last two years Kathy golfed were a bit of a struggle for her, but she pushed through as best she could. I know something about Parkinson's as my mother had it. Kathy would ask me about things that happened to my mother and we would compare notes, as much as we could. Kathy fought a good fight, and I know it was because she loved her family so much. She will be missed. - Posted by: Linda Pashniak (Friend from Rossmere) on: Aug 24, 2014

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Kathy at Maple Leaf for several years. She was truly a "lady".... kind, always pleasant, well dressed, with a heart of gold. Her family were very important to her and she made that quite clear. I know you will miss her terribly. May the treasured memories you have of her help give you strength to get through this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Ricki Daly (former colleague) on: Aug 23, 2014
