Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYDIA EDITH FROESE Lydia Froese (nee Penner) passed away peacefully on August 28, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband Dave in 1992, and her daughter Leona in 2009. She is survived by her children Harold (Jocelyn), David (Doreen), Rodney (Lil), James (Karen), Heather (Don), 12 grandchildren Kevin (Marilou), Audrey (Peter), Aaron, Colin (Nicole), Darryl, Jennifer (Dave), Lee, Jordan, Jonathan, Chloe, Braden and Andee, and five great-grandchildren Celine, Xavier, Matthias, Hannah and Mila. She is also survived by her brothers, Hardy (Gladys), Frank (Elfrida), Albert (Lorraine), Edgar (Irene) and their families; sisters-in-law Elsie Froese, Helen Froese, and many extended family members. Mom had a very strong faith. She became a Christian at an early age and was baptized and became a member of the Springstein Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1961, Mom and Dad joined the Fort Rouge (now Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church), and were members until their passing. Mom often had her Bible or a Christian book she was reading beside her. She lived her faith each day and was an example for all of us. We are so thankful for the memories we have of a great mom, grandma and great-grandma. As a family, we would like to thank the staff at Harmony Courts, Calvary Place and the St. Boniface Hospital for the great care Mom received. Funeral service will take place on Monday, September 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church, 1771 Pembina Highway, with private interment prior in Springstein Cemetery. Donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, available at the service, or a charity of one's choice.
