Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA CONCEICAO DA COSTA It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Conceicao on August 31, 2014 in Ottawa, ON at the age of 89 years. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Agostinho Caetano DaCosta. Left to cherish her memory are children Maria Lidia Vieira (Luis), Alfonso DaCosta (Kathy), John DaCosta (Susan); grandchildren Jennifer, Stefanie, John, James, Carmen, Alex, Anjelique, and Tanisha. She is also survived by her sister Irena Araujo (Manuel); brother Hermano Lima (Leonore), as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Portugal, Toronto and British Columbia. Maria was born November 21, 1924 in Sao Miguel Acores, Portugal. In 1959 she followed her husband and immigrated to Canada where they started a new life in a new country. Though Canada was very different from her homeland she embraced Canada and thrived in her adopted country. Her gentle spirit will be missed. Vigil Prayers 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street. Funeral service 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Parish.
