JOSEPHINE (JESSIE) DMYTRYK August 6, 1925 - September 16, 2014 Peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away at her residence at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband Antin in 1999 and daughter Sandy in 2007. Jessie leaves to mourn her daughters, Lidia, Dolly (Tony), son Taras (Karla); grandsons, Brandon and Matthew; granddaughter Jessica; as well as relatives in Poland and Ukraine. Jessie was born in Slobitka, Western Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1959 with her husband and two daughters Lidia and Sandy. She will always be remembered for her gentle, generous spirit, love for people and animals, her cooking and baking, and her green thumb. She was a wonderful and loving mother and her family meant the world to her. Her greatest happiness in life was seeing her family together. Jessie was a strong woman whom we all looked up to. There was nothing she couldn't do. Mom loved bingo, but mostly loved meeting people. Everyone who knew her loved her. The family is grateful to health care aides Halina P., Suzanna R., Joanne L., and Chrissy and RC Wendy for the compassionate and dignified care that they gave our mom, and especially Anna and Cora for their devoted, exceptional care. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 19 at Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating.
