RUTH WARKENTIN On Thursday, October 2, 2014, we said goodbye to Ruth Warkentin (nee Hajer), 82, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is survived by three children, Loraine Toews, Esther (Willie) Klassen, and Julianne (Brad) Dick; her eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Frank, her son Frankie, and son-in-law David Toews. She was born to the late Wilhelm and Bertha Hajer on March 6, 1932 in Wymishle, Poland. After fleeing Poland via Germany, Ruth and her family arrived in Canada in 1948. She married Frank Warkentin on July 26, 1952 and they cherished 61 years of marriage together. The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff at Concordia Place for the tremendous care they gave. A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service at 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. A private family burial will take place following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MS Society, Concordia Place Care Centre or a charity of one's choice. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 204-339-5555

Lorraine, Esther, Julie, My condolences on the loss of your mother. Your mom was so kind to me when I lived at Newton. She had such a gentle spirit. She is now at rest. I am sure Frankie, Dave, and your Dad are happy to have her "home".
