Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKEVIN NICHOLAS WOROSCHUK It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother Kevin Nicholas Woroschuk on October 17, 2014 at the age of 38 years, born April 9, 1976. Throughout his youth and for many years Kevin was actively involved in the Ukrainian culture through music and dance. Kevin loved dancing and was well known for dancing on his head. He performed at Ukrainian festivals around Canada and as well danced at many weddings and socials. Kevin also taught Ukrainian dancing and passed on and shared his passion to many children. After graduating high school, Kevin went to Red River College and studied to become an electrician. He was a very hard working man and dedicated much of his time to his profession, which he enjoyed. Kevin was a city boy but a country boy at heart. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and spent many hours in the woods, sometimes getting lost. When on the boat, Kevin had the good skills to get everyone back to shore safely, even in some terrible weather and rough waters. He even got the opportunity to go salmon fishing with his uncles Allan and Harvey off the coast of British Columbia several years ago, but he didn't have to drive that boat. Like most men, Kevin was an avid hockey fan and his favourite team was the Edmonton Oilers, and his all time player Wayne Gretzky. The day that the news conference was held that announced Gretzky's trade to the LA Kings, Kevin cried in disbelief....but didn't give up on his favourite player. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Darlene Woroschuk, and his sister, Clara Woroschuk. Allan Beck, Harvey Beck, Nicholas Beck, Mackenzie Beck, Parker Beck, and Jeff Kozak will be acting as pallbearers. The family wishes to thank family from out of town: Betty Pollock from Regina, Allan and Shelley Beck with their children Nicholas, Mackenzie, and Parker from Calgary, Harvey Beck from Calgary, and his sister Clara from British Columbia. Prayers will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. A service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB, with Father Darren Kawiuk presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6. Hard to know where to begin, When Bill and Darlene moved to Charleswood on Cathcart St. right next door to my parents, and myself and my two sisters, they had no children yet. Not too long after, they were finally blessed with Clara May, and not so long after, Kevin. I have known this wonderful family most of my life. Today, 7 months after Kevin's passing, I saw Bill, at our neighborhood mall, and he told me. I somehow did not know, and I want to tell this family, how sorry I am for them. Bill, Darlene and Clara, I have always been so happy to have known Kevin, as you did a wonderful job in raising both of your children, and what a great kid he was. Our sincere condolences to your family... I had the great pleasure of knowing Kevin through Dance! Kevin was always smiling and always positive. When we saw him this past summer at Folklorama it was as always a very uplifting time chatting and laughing about old times! It is with great sadness to hear of Kevin being taken so soon from your lives. I remember him as always being so happy, smiling and joking. Kevin visited the Spirit of Ukraine Folklorama Pavilion several times this past August and I am so glad I had the chance to catch up with him! He was the same Kevin I remember from BVM, so passionate, so excited and so genuine & caring.
