I first met Marjorie, and talked with her at length, at an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship event in 1987. Later, I was able to get to know her better through visits at Victoria and Misericordia Hospitals, and Donwood Manor. It was a gift to me to listen to recollections of her life. Though the travesty and toll of Alzheimer's disease on mind and body over those years were evident, the earlier recounting of her memoirs was as in vivid Kodachrome. She was eager to tell. And I was eager to listen. Her daughters-in-law had put together photo albums for her, and this helped facilitate narrative. Though much of her life involved pain and hardship, she did not dwell therein, but on her faith and trust in God, and her experiences of grace and joy over her lifetime. Her love for family, especially her three sons, was an integral part of her being. And her heart for ministry to international students was another significant attribute. I believe she is now enjoying her Lord and Saviour in heaven, in new and marvelous ways, with countless others whom He loves and redeems. With gratitude for privilege of knowing her, and for those who cared for her and loved her, especially her incredible family. - Posted by: Laura (Friend) on: Dec 02, 2014

I met Marge over 30 years ago and she was always pleasant at family gatherings - I identified with her having difficulty parting with things... everything from our past has special memories and she led an interesting life. Marge had three sons - each different and unique in his own way and she was very proud of every one of them and their accomplishments. Her legacy is three special men. - Posted by: Barbara Joan Markes (Sister-in-Law to middle son Don Lewis) on: Nov 08, 2014
