Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERICA NANCY WEIK It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our wife and mother, Erica Nancy Weik on November 2, 2014. Left to cherish her memory is William, husband of 66 years, children Bob, Don, Karen (Larry), Debbie (Eric), Glen, Sally (Warren) and Ernie (Tracy); grandchildren Stacey (Jason), Jen, Mike (Melanie), Nicole, Willie, Brooke, Rachelle, Leif, Deni, Jordan, Kristen, Keith, Amy and Kayla; great-grandchildren Nigel, Taylor, Dakota, Jaiden and Macie; sister-in-law Lee and many nieces and nephews. Erica was born April 28, 1930 in Stonewall, MB along with her twin sister Hilda to Bert and Anna Ullman. The family moved to Bjarmi, MB when the girls were infants where they grew up on their farm near their Aunt Pauline and Uncle Clements Wagner. Mom always spoke kindly of auntie and often credited her for teaching her how to work hard. Lifelong friendships were made with the neighbourhood children on the long walk to the Bjarmi School. And it pleased her greatly any time she had an opportunity to see them again in later years. In 1948, she married Willie and they began their long life together, working on their family farm. Although farm work and raising seven children was her priority, Mom still found time to transform her yard into a park-like setting. Baking was another of Mom's passions and anyone who stopped by was treated to a seemingly endless assortment of delicious cakes and cookies. In 2009, Mom and Dad made the decision to leave the farm and move to the Mary Thorarinson Estates in Arborg. Mom enjoyed the afternoon activities and used her green thumb to brighten the surroundings with colourful pots of geraniums. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the Arborg and District Health Centre for the compassionate care of Mom. In keeping with Mom's wishes a private family celebration of her life was held on Friday, November 7, 2014.

Erica took me under her wing as a new farm wife and showed me the ropes for everything from baking, gardening, canning and farm life. This city gal could not have had a better teacher. We enjoyed many coffee times together and was there to lend a hand with her grandchildren. She showed me as we worked side by side how to do many things. I cherish these moments. I respected her energy which she applied to making everyone's lives around her more comfortable and hospitable. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Valerie Weik (Daughter In-Law) on: Nov 08, 2014
