In 1972 they moved back to Winnipeg with their three children where he took up the position of Manager of Adanac Credit Union, until his retirement in 2003. He was his grandchildren's greatest fan, spending time watching them participate in their various activities. He enjoyed his time at the cottage on The Lake of the Woods, especially around a bonfire and fishing. He was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church serving on the Parish Council for a number of years, being especially proud of the work they did in the renovation of the church in 1989. ADANAC C.U.---- Was Tom Antonick. I met him when he showed up at our office. As a service to us while I was working at the Department of Human Resources and Development (now Service Canada)back in 1987. I was shocked that he would do that. He came in 1x per month so we could "do our banking with him". Tom was always so gentle, calm, intelligent, humane, and wise. Very, very soon after Tom retired, I switched my banking to Bank of Nova Scotia. The Adanac Credit Union was never the same when he left. Always so gentle, always a gentleman, always wise. So sad to learn of his passing, we lost a good one and a real professional. - Posted by: Craig Simmie (Client at ADANAC C.U.) on: Jul 17, 2018

It was very sad to receive the news of Tom's passing. I would like to send my deepest condolences to you and your family. "And now we go on, strengthened by his memory and weakened by his loss." I knew Tom from way back 'back in the day' on Hector Ave. Amongst the younger guys Tom was a 'legend' because he wuld let us play either football or baseball in Carter Park. Sometimes, he would 'wow' us by tiptoeing along the highest bar of the big swings. Tom was a really decent guy. After having read the other comments it was very heartening that Tom continued to 'give' both in his work and family life. May he rest in peace with the peace of God. Tom was a real gentleman and a very reliable representative for Adanac when he worked there. He would come into the office, with goodwill in his heart, and always conducted himself in a friendly professional way. His office visits made it very convenient for us, but because he had good internal content as a person, we were more than happy to see him and chat for a while. I just noticed his obituary today, for this great man with a quiet warm heart. To his family, I would like to say, thank you for sharing this noble Soul with us and his other friends. Surely a good man like this will have God’s mercy afforded to him, and he will not be a stranger to one of God’s heavens. - Posted by: Doug Culliford (Friend) on: Nov 18, 2014

Our sincere condolences to you and your family. I knew your Dad from my Charleswood days and when he would come fill up the vehicles at the Shell station and come out to watch the kids sports...such a very kind and friendly fellow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Tracey & Kevin Burton (Friend) on: Nov 18, 2014

I had the pleasure of knowing and having dealings directly with Tom for a number of years. His compassion and understanding went above and beyond the action of the average bank manager. After my mother retired and she was disabled he came out to her place to do banking for her and we both appreciated it very much. After he left the CU, things were never the same. I am positive that he is however pain free and at peace now and that is what counts - Posted by: Sherry Hinchliffe (Sloboda) (was once a client of his when he was manager at the Adanac Credit Union) on: Nov 17, 2014

Donna and Dean. My sincere sympathy on the loss of your dad Donna. How wonderful that he was able to see two of his grandchildren marry this year, a memory they will always treasure. As I am away for the winter, I will not be able to attend the funeral Mass. Terry was kind enough to advise me of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. - Posted by: Sue Heim (Friend) on: Nov 15, 2014
