ANNELIESE (ANNE) GAUTHIER It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandma, sister and friend Anneliese (Werner) Gauthier at the age of 77 at Riverview Health Center, Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 16, 2014. Anne is survived by her husband of 55 years Joseph Alfred Raymond Gauthier; sons Dan (Liz), Ray (Nancy), Ken (Rose), Steve (Dar); grandchildren Dustin, Matthew, Megan, Amy, Justin and Matt; and great grandchildren Vaida and Chaise. Her friends Angel and Joy were very special friends and neighbours. Anne was born on December 17, 1936 in Niederense, Germany to Herman Werner and Maria Kisters and had siblings Rolf, Theo, Gisella and Karen. She met the love of her life Fred during his military post in Northwest Europe Werl Germany and they married at Fort St. Anne Werl Germany. She left her life in Germany for Canada and said that she was thrilled to have led such an adventurous life, to have raised four sons who made her so proud, to have celebrated a grand 50th anniversary with her children and have two beautiful great-grandkids. When Anne was given her cancer diagnosis, she faced every day with great courage and incredible humor. The staff at Riverview gave her much attention and compassion and often commented on how much they loved coming to her room. Anne, Mom, Grammi - such are names for a woman who has been appreciated for her many talents of welcome, celebrations and the gifts of many, many cherished memories. We are blessed to have been part of this amazing lady's life, and to have learned from her to live without regret or resentments, but with appreciation of the simple pleasures found in each day. Memorial service will be held at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014.
