Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA (OLHA) SENCHUK (nee BILAS) It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved mama and baba, Olha Senchuk on November 21, 2014. Mama slipped away quietly in her sleep at the age of 95. She leaves to mourn her loss, daughter Orysia Parkasewych; grandson Andrei; her nephew, Andrij Hoshulak; Natalka Cmoc; Motria Rozon and extended family in Ukraine. She was predeceased by her husband Roman Senchuk; son-in-law George Parkasewych; brothers, Wasyl and Vlodko Bilas; sister, Maria Cmoc Hoshulak; brother-in-law, Kostantin Modest Cmoc, and nephew Modest Cmoc. Olha was born in Truskavetz, Western Ukraine on October 1, 1919 to Eva Danylyshyn and Dmytro Bilas, and the youngest of four siblings. Growing up she became involved in sports, drama, sang in a quartet and choir. She was an active member of OUN. In 1942 she married Roman Senchuk. In 1944 with the invasion of the Soviet Army, the family was forced to leave Ukraine ending up in a Displaced Persons Camp in Kufstein, Austria. In 1949 they immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. Olha became a member of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral, joined the church choir and later O. Koshetz Choir. Olha was also a member of Oseredok. Although Mama endured many upheavals in her life, they never broke her spirit. Her love for her family was unconditional and she taught us to accept and adjust to life's challenges. Baba had a very special bond with her grandson Andrei which he will always cherish. We will miss her dearly as she has left a huge void in our hearts. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29 at the Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat Michael Buyachok officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre, 184 Alexander Ave. East, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0L6 or Ukrainian Canadian Social Services, 235 McGregor St., Winnipeg, MB R2W 4W5.
