CHRIS JENSEN February 11, 1925 - November 26, 2014 Peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, Chris passed away at the Stonewall Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Sophia, by his parents Hans Christian and Mortina Jensen, a brother Lars, sisters Mary, Magda, Anne, Tim. He will be lovingly remembered by four sons and their families, Leonard (Debbie) Derrick, Lynsey; William (Kyla) Hayden, Marissa, Rylee; Dan (Amber) Maddex and Joseph, Dylan, Cody. He is also survived by a brother Anton and several nieces and nephews. Chris was born in Moosehorn on February 11, 1925. In the spring of 1949 Chris moved with his parents to his current residence one mile east of Stonewall. Chris worked different jobs in Winnipeg including at Bristol and the City of Winnipeg but a lot of people still remember him as a school bus driver. He enjoyed farming, he was the boss and did things at his own pace. Always known for being up early in the morning before six, he always got a chance to get in his naps after chores and meals. He enjoyed his weekly golf and fishing trips in his retirement years and always had time for a game of cards. Chris and Sophia spent ten winters in California visiting with relatives. The family would like to thank the staff at Stonewall and Selkirk Hospitals that cared for Chris the last few months. A private viewing will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. A celebration of Chris' life will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Teulon on Friday, December 5, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place at Windsor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Peter Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Teulon, Manitoba, R0C 3B0. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall 204-467-2525 mackhome@mts.net

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Bill and family, we are sorry for the loss of your father. A kind person. - Posted by: Ross family (friend of family) on: Dec 10, 2014

  • From my very earliest childhood memories of Uncle Chris he treated me already like a young man - with a nice and firm handshake and kind words that spoke directly to me with smiling interest. This city boy learned from Uncle Chris where his dinner came from on the farm, as we had chores and duty to earn one's meal. And working hard now means you get to play harder later. I respect his ethics and support the word of cousin Lloyd in expression of gratutude to a very good man and a prince to his princess, my Aunt Sophie - Posted by: Ken Jensen (nephew) on: Nov 30, 2014

  • Uncle Chris gave the best hugs and had a twinkle in his eyes. He will be missed - Posted by: Judi Templin (Jensen) (Niece ) on: Nov 29, 2014

  • He was a sweet man who is now having one sweet reunion with his Sophia. A wonderful couple. - Posted by: Noreen Stone (friend and congregational member) on: Nov 29, 2014

  • When I think of people that have had the most influence in my life, Uncle Chris certainly comes to mind. His work ethic was second to none and he had a sense of humour born of an age where hard work trumped everything else. He has set the bar high and given us more than we can ever repay. If respect and admiration were currencies, he would indeed be a very wealthy man. He will be missed, but he shall never be forgotten. - Posted by: Lloyd (nephew) on: Nov 29, 2014
