Date of Passing: Dec 10, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE LISTMAYER It is with great sadness that the family of George Listmayer announces his passing on December 10, 2014. George was loved and admired by his wife of 61 years, Elsie, daughters, Cathy and Aggie, his seven grandchildren, Tiffany, Graham, Braden, Travis, Brittany, Mitchell and Marielle, along with his six great-grandchildren. George also leaves behind his sisters, Elizabeth Stamler and Kay Machej, and was predeceased by his two brothers, Andrew Listmayer (lost in the Second World War) and Andrew Webber. George was a loyal husband, loving father, but most of all a role model to all his grandchildren. We admired his generosity and his hard working nature and will continue to emulate him through our lives. In honour of George's wishes, a private service will be held for the immediate family. We just lost my uncle John (Joe) Listmayer. I am told that George was his distant cousin, though I never had the pleasure of meeting him. On behalf of our family in Winnipeg, including Stefan Listmayer and his sister Mary Stevens (nee Listmayer), you have our deepest sympathies. - Posted by: Valerie Lindberg (nee Listmayer) () on: Dec 29, 2014

I'm very sorry to hear of Mr. Listmayer's passing. I never knew him, but there's a connection with the names. My maiden name was Listmayer. Even the first names connect with my mother's side of the family. Small connections in this world. I pray that your George Listmayer sleeps soundly. - Posted by: Tammy Anderson (distant cousin) on: Dec 29, 2014

So very sorry for your loss. Seeing the name brought back so many good childhood memories, especially Elsie's blueberry muffins and George's beautiful smile. - Posted by: Joan Stasiuk (high school friend) on: Dec 21, 2014

I remember George visiting us when I was about 3 years old and taking our family picture, the only one we ever had! The next time I saw him was in the early 60's when we had moved to Winnipeg. He visited with Joe and Eva Listmayer who were living in Abbotsford at the time. I liked him and wish we had gotten to know him better. Such an odd coincidence that he should have passed away just 2 days before my brother Johanne. - Posted by: Beth Farquhar (Listmayer) (distant cousin) on: Dec 20, 2014
