GEORGE ALEXANDER NAISMITH With heavy hearts our family announces the sudden passing of our dad, George Naismith on December 17, 2014. Dad was born on March 21, 1929 in Neepawa, MB. He was predeceased by his son Randy on August 8, 2014 and leaves to mourn his beloved wife Wilma; children Jan (Bob), Kevin (Marilyn), Jeff (Amy); daughter-in-law Mavis, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Dad loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly, and has left them with so many loving memories of their Grampa and "Papa Wheeler". Dad worked for Manitoba Hydro for 42 years. After 20 years as District Supervisor at Seven Sisters Falls, he retired in 1984. Dad was a very humble and giving man. In keeping with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Was saddened to hear of George's passing. I still remember your family coming to visit us in Ledwyn with Uncle Alex & Auntie Rose and the kids. They were good times and good memories! - Posted by: Valerie Klym (STETZ) - Alex Stetz's niece (Acquaintance ( from many years ago )) on: Dec 30, 2014

  • I remember George as one of the older members of my generation. In particular I remember his role in a forest fire in which a number of the high school boys from Carberry were badly injured. George dug a hole and after the fire passed he ran a number of miles to get help for the remainder of the group. A true Hero without whom there would have been loss of life. It was bad enough. - Posted by: Fred Palen (very old neighbour) on: Dec 24, 2014

  • Jeff and family - my sincere sympathy - I recall the many conversations we had - and how proud you were of your dad! My dad too has passed since we last spoke! The pain never goes away but all the good memories will keep him close. - Posted by: Janet Lamirande (Former Co-Worker) on: Dec 24, 2014
