Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE SAWCHUK (nee LAPKA) It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Pauline (Polly) Sawchuk on the morning of January 10, 2015 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her son in law Reginald Moroz and her grandchildren Kristie and Kelly (wife Jana-Jo). Pauline is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Joseph, her daughter, Geraldine, Uncle Stanley, her parents and siblings. Pauline was born on January 16, 1925 in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. After falling in love with and marrying Joseph, they gave birth to their daughter, Geraldine in 1945, who they were very close with. After many decades living at 420 Dalton Avenue, her final four years were spent at the Holy Family Towers on Aberdeen Ave. Polly was the matriarch of the family; an adoring mother and a highly sociable person who appreciated and organized regular get-togethers with neighborhood friends and family. Polly was always chatting, laughing, giving, and looking out for the well-being of others. Her Ukrainian cooking will be missed dearly, particularly her cabbage rolls, borscht, various pies and famous perogies. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, January 16 at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street. 204-586-8044

He passed away in 1977. I'm sorry to hear about your loss and my thoughts are with you. I remember Polly coming over to my parents' house with Cindy and Bill Lapka. As a kid I remember she was always oh so pleasant and happy. May she rest in peace! - Posted by: Pat Downey (My dad and Polly were cousins. He passed away in 1977. I never remember a negative moment, only love. I can only hope that by offering myself to those you loved deeply with all my heart I can share your memory forever. For it is to me a wake up call to tell those you love how you cherished the time we shared and that I am sorry for not affirming that more often. Thanks for every hug. I will never forget you, forgive me. paulchick ps the best cook I ever met. I love you aunty Polly - Posted by: paulchick (lost nephew) on: Jan 13, 2015
