VERNON STUPAK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vern Stupak on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg. Vern will be missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Louise; his son Mark (Sheila) and granddaughter Olivia of Victoria, BC; his daughter Wendy Wightman (Peter) and grandchildren, Brett, Nicole and Brooke; sister Eleanor Jaworski and nephew Bradley Jaworski and sister Marion Paleshniuk (Ed); sister-in-law Della Schmidt and brother-in-law Wilfred Schmidt; other family in BC; and numerous friends. Vern was predeceased by his parents, Cashmer and Ann Stupak of Springfield, MB.; sisters-in-law, Isabel Schmidt and Florence Zdan; brothers-in-law Ronald Jaworski and Joseph Zdan; and nephew Lorenz Schmidt. Vern was born on December 26, 1935 in Winnipeg, MB. He graduated from Isaac Newton High School and began working at Giftwares followed by International Harvester, R.C.A. and then passionately spent 20 years selling real estate for Century 21 until his retirement in 2008. Vern loved spending time with his family and friends, a good joke, watching the Winnipeg Jets and helping anyone who was in need. He spent many happy hours in his vegetable garden always growing plenty to share with others. Education and hard work was something that Vern valued and tried to pass on to his children and grandchildren. Vern enjoyed his involvement in the planning and building of St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church followed by many years of worship and fellowship at the church. A celebration of Vern's life will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church, 2903 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB. A private interment will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. M.B. MacMillan and his staff for their compassionate care and to the home care workers, neighbours and friends for all of their kindness and help during the last few months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

To the family of Vern Stupak. Although I did not know Vern in later years I fondly recall the Stupak family & Vern when we went to school in North Springfield. He was always a very easy going, kind person. His sister Marion & I were in same grade. On behalf of myself & sister Sherrill we send our sincerest condolences to Vern's family & his sisters. Kindest regards. Mort Woolley - Posted by: Mort Woolley (Early Aquaintance.) on: Jan 15, 2015

Sorry for your loss, your dad was a special person. I remember many days at your house in the company of your dad. One story that stands out is one day your dad had the RCA delivery truck and myself and Mark got to go in the back while your dad drove. When you're a little boy that stuff was fun. - Posted by: Bruce Rayburn (neighbor) on: Jan 14, 2015
