He will be sadly missed by all his siblings, along with his extended family and many friends. Stathis immigrated to Winnipeg in 1956 and was employed by M J Roofing for over 30 years where he travelled extensively throughout Manitoba. Stathis was devoted to his family and friends and was affectionately known to his granddaughters as "Pappou". Stathis enjoyed gardening and took pride in his vegetable garden, and was especially known for his tomatoes. Stathis was a long standing member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. The family wishes to thank Dr. Brent Schacter, Zoe Ignacio and the medical staff at CancerCare Manitoba, as well as the physicians and nurses at Riverview Health Centre - Palliative Care Unit. Services will be performed by Rev. Fr. Konstantinos Tsiolas at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Avenue. Prayers will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stathis' name to CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home. You will be forever missed and loved.
