Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I only knew Mrs. Fournier (I don’t think she would mind if I addressed her as Aline) for about two years and yet feel so fortunate to have shared some small amount of time with her. Her smile and laugh could indeed lift a person up and melt one’s heart. Her playful and competitive side was in full bloom (like the flowers she planted) when playing Skip-Bo. She and I were co-conspirators during games with Marcelle who tended to win the majority of games. She would give us a sly smile or remark when she got on a run and was whittling down her deck of cards. Aline and I shared a love for some of the same sweet candies. It was such a treat to receive a warm little hug for bringing her a new stash of candy, like our favorite panned marshmallow Easter eggs. She so loved her family and delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandsons. I recall her spotting a grandson she hadn’t seen in quite a while and rushing to hug him while lighting up the room with her joy. It seemed to me that good times with family brought the greatest contentment to her heart. I will always remember with great fondness her strength, her gentleness, her honesty and grace when facing her health concerns, and for the warmth and kindness she showed towards me and so many others. I only knew Aline for a brief period of time but the impression she made and the good memories I have of her will last and last. - Posted by: Rod Lauder (Acquaintance) on: Mar 06, 2015

  • Your mom was a great lady. Always had a smile, always made you feel welcome and she was a grand cook. I will miss her smile, her kindness, and her laugh.
