As an employee of Parkview Place I had the privilege of getting to know Marge. We shared many moments sitting outside in the summer chatting while having our cigarettes, watching Marg feed the squirrels, talking about the Bombers, the Winnipeg Jets, etc. - Marge loved her sports. Marge was truly a wonderful lady and friend and her presence will be greatly missed.....rest peacefully. It was an honor knowing you Marge....rest peacefully. - Posted by: Lorraine Silk (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2015

I've known Margie for 4 years, she came into my life here at Parkview Place on July 7, 2011 and we became friends very fast actually smoking outside in the front. She was very dear to me and always called me her little sister (even though we were 40+ years apart) she always made sure to say goodbye to me at the end of the day and always said good morning with a piece of cheese for me (she knew I loved cheese as did she). She was the most kind hearted, loving, caring woman and I'm blessed to have had that wonderful person in my life. I will miss you forever and will always love you my Margie...R.I.P my friend. xo - Posted by: Kelly Thomas (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2015

My son and I, along with my Uncle who started to reside at Parkview Place in January, got to know Marge from day one. She and my little boy became fast friends especially when he called her Margarine. She laughed so hard, she later told me that she got such a kick out of him and had been sharing with everyone that he had called Margarine on our next visit. Then the blowing of kisses began when we would leave, most recently he threw a hug for good measure. He had seen her on Monday the 9th so when we went to see Uncle Gerry on Friday we found out she had passed. My little one hung his head and his little lip started to quiver a little and said "Mom Marge died." He was upset for a time but then he took it upon himself to tell everyone there. Later at home he asked God to bring Marge back. I explained that Marge was feeling much better in heaven and that he had made her very happy to have known him. My heartfelt Condolences to her family and friends, she touched us so profoundly in such a short time. She made my 5 year old very happy having known her. Rest in peace Marge. You are and will be missed. Jackie, Uncle Gerry and our sweet Kendal. - Posted by: Jackie Courteau (friends) on: Mar 15, 2015

To Marge’s family, We first met Marge on a sunny day at Parkview Place. She was sitting outside, and with her hair done so nicely and her red lipstick and red sweater, she looked just like a movie star sitting there with her cigarette. We know she enjoyed being in Parkview and we were privileged to have regular visits with her. She was so happy being the president of the Resident’s Association and wore her badge with much pride. She certainly enjoyed watching sports and everyone knew the Jets were her favourite. She also didn’t like to miss bingo or any event that was going on. She loved feeding the squirrels and having her visits with people who walked by. She had such a positive outlook and made us feel so special. We will certainly miss her. We are so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Shirley Gibb and Laurie Chudley - Posted by: Shirley Gibb and Laurie Chudley (Friends) on: Mar 14, 2015

We've gotten to know Marge well over the last two years. My husband had a stroke in February 2012 and he went to Parkview Place in April 2013. Right from the start, Marge was the most friendly lady at Parkview. We brought Marge to bingo at Glenlee-Norberry CC a few times and everytime I picked her up at Parkview and we drove to the bingo, she would always comment how nice it was to see the city. I took her for a few drives because she really enjoyed looking at everything. The last time we went to bingo, she ended up in the hospital. She was such a special woman and will really be missed. Our game nights of cribbage with Al and Monica at Parkview will always be treasured. Her great sense of humor and always thinking of everyone else will be remembered in my heart. Marge - you have made such an impression and I will miss you a lot! My children got to know you as well and liked the fact that you befriended their dad at Parkview as a son. You were always such a giving person and bringing you cheese and cheezies I know brought such a smile to your face. We will miss you Marge, happy travels on your next journey. - Posted by: Lucy and Ron Stecki (Friend) on: Mar 14, 2015
