MARIA DE JESUS (ESTRELA) ALVES February 2, 1928 - March 30, 2015 Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Maria de Jesus (Estrela) Alves was called home by our Heavenly Father. She was a woman of great faith so it is with joy that we announce her passing. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Adelberto; her brothers Jose, Manuel, Joao, Antero; and her sisters Ascencao and Gilda. Missing her dearly are her children Martinha (Mike), Juvenalia (Ed), Carmina (Keith), Joe (Renata); her grandchildren Talia (Matt), Michael, Adrian (Robin), Amanda, Katrina, Sabrina, Tianna; and her great-grandchildren Atlas and Nova, as well as many nieces and nephews, and her beloved pets. Estrela was a sweet and gentle woman. She had a beautiful voice and sang for many years in the church choir. She loved gardening and flowers, and was an amazing seamstress. She belonged to the confraternity of Lay Carmelites since the age of 17 and was very devoted to her prayers. We are thankful for the tender care given to our mother by the nurses and healthcare aides - you know who you are. A special thanks to Mirela for her comforting visits and also to Dr. Peter Connelly, Dr. Andrea Babick, and Dr. Terry Babick.
