Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMENNO FRANKLIN (FRANK) GOERTZEN April 19, 1940 - April 1, 2015 On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at St. Boniface Hospital, Menno Franklin Goertzen of Winnipeg (formerly of Winkler), aged 74, went to his eternal rest. Menno is survived by daughters Frances Kullman (Robert), Audrey Scott (Clayton), Beverly Ganchar (Dave), son Rick Nawolski (Terry), brother Abe (Anne), sister Tina Krahn, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his long-time friend and ex-wife Selma. He was predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Margaret, sisters Mary, Martha, Betty, infant brother Jimmy, and son-in-law Gary. In his early years, Menno loved to farm with his family. He was a curious boy and loved to figure out how things worked, which continued throughout the rest of his life. He was very handy and could fix almost anything and enjoyed doing it. He also loved trains and collected them throughout his life. He was very proud of his collection and displayed the train set in his home for all to see, especially at Christmas, the holiday he loved the most. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will take place at Wiebe's Funeral Home and Cemetery in Winkler on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Siloam Mission.

Sorry about your dad. Menno and my dad, Jake Kauenhofen shared the love of trains. I remember Menno and Selma just a little but I know my dad was fond of them. We used to come over from time to time. It is now 7 years since you left, my heart still hurts but you are with me always, think of you every day, and now mom is with you so you have two to look out for now mom and grandma to give them both hugs and big hugs to you too. You are all in a better place and all your pains are gone. Well another year gone, this makes it 6 yrs now and I still miss and think of you everyday. Just so you know every once in awhile I pull out my old phone and play your last message you left me I will never delete or get rid of that phone just to hear your voice makes me smile, just wish I was really chatting with you. I love you and miss you in my heart you will always be till we meet again you rest high on that mountain and I know you are watching over me, tell GT hi and I love and miss her too been 50 yrs since she went away and I still remember the day as if it were today. Well it has now been 5 years how the time has gone by but the memories are still the same. The hurt and missing you never goes away but then I think of all the good times we had and the talks that will stay with me forever. You are in a better place then we are right now and I am so thankful for that cause this virus going around would not have been good for you. I love you and miss you every single day. The years seem to be going by so fast, 4 years ago you left but in my heart it is still like yesterday. I miss you so much and if there was a phone in heaven I would be calling everyday. It is 3 years now that you went to rest. Time takes so long to heal as I still miss you as if you left today, in my mind you will be forever and in heart you will hold it always.
