Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Dying was easy for Don Amell. His life was much more difficult, but equally rewarding. Don is cherished by his family, loved by his friends, and blessed by those who came to know the LORD through his sharing of the Great News of Jesus Christ, in word and in deed. Signed, Gordon Warren, a disciple, friend, & brother in Christ. - Posted by: Gordon V. Warren (friend) on: May 01, 2015

  • When serving as Sunday school teacher in the 2/3 class at E.K. Baptist we had a regular ministry of picking up any community children whose parents would allow them to come to Sunday School. It was a young Zac Amell who was in my class along with many others. His parents Don and Donna came one Sunday to see what their child was being taught. It was at this meeting that we invited them to speak to the young people later that month. He came willingly to share his faith and it was at that evening fellowship that we heard about his faith story. The Lord was working nightly in Don's life in a quiet way he was working issues out in his life and he was very purposeful in his decisions. He and Donna started to attend E.K. Baptist along with their young family and the rest is history. - Posted by: lori hildebrand (East Kildonan Baptist Church Member) on: Apr 18, 2015

  • My sincerest condolences to all of the family. Don was my first real pastor when I was a youth. I learned much from him in the brief time we were both at EKBC. He had a mentor's heart who sought God and a corny but good sense of humour. May you find comfort that he is in the hands of the Saviour. - Posted by: Michael Kowalson (former congregant) on: Apr 12, 2015
