After her schooling, Ollia stayed home and cared for her ailing mother. In 1952, she entered the Novitiate of the SSMI in Ancaster, where she took the name Epiphany and made her final profession in 1959. Sr. Epiphany was a very musical, creative and free spirit. She completed her Royal Conservatory Music Degree, qualifying her to be a Music Teacher. From 1957 to 1970, she poured her gifts into teaching piano, theory, harmony and conducting choirs at the Sister's Music Schools in Toronto and Winnipeg. She also taught at Mount Mary Academy, Ancaster and Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy and School in Winnipeg. There are many young people in Winnipeg who have taken piano lessons from Sister Epiphany over the years. She played piano with her soul and has lifted the spirits of many, including residents of Holy Family Home. A Religious Sister for 63 years, Sister Epiphany was a very quiet, prayerful and faithful person with a great love for God and all creation. A woman of few words, she embraced life as it unfolded. Her love for animals throughout life led to many friendships. Dearest Sister Epiphany, I will miss you and love you always. I was so blessed to have met you thru Father Svoboda. We shared our love for animals & helping others. I learned so much from you and Father and I know God was granting me special blessings when he brought you in my life. Sister worried about everyone & the animals before herself. I will miss you dearly Sister, you are in my heart forever. Carole Ramsay (friend) - Posted by: Carole Ramsay (Friend) on: Jun 22, 2015

Dearest Uncle Ladz, Pat & Donna, Greg & Teresa, We will miss her weekly phone calls that kept us up to date on all the Winnipeg family news. She was so proud of her family and loved keeping us all connected. Her love of animals, even the long distance ones, was so much fun...we could talk all day about Polly or Stanley or Bernie and Gordon. It didn't matter, she wanted all the pet news. Now she's probably caring for all the animals that went before her and enjoying every minute. Sister Ep... you are missed. Uncle Ladz...you are loved. - Posted by: Cathy Curley (Niece) on: Apr 14, 2015

We will miss you Sister Epiphany. You were always so bright and caring. I loved how you managed to walk Father Svoboda's big dog who was almost bigger than you! I also appreciated how you cared for Father and Francis the cat. You often asked Father to give us a blessing for which I am grateful. Rest now, you have earned it. - Posted by: Amberley Jacob (Grand-daughter of Jessie Salome) on: Apr 12, 2015

Very fond memories of Sister Epiphany... I agree with Steve... She was a master pianist and could play anything first time without corrections! She taught me piano for 10 yrs starting while I was in grade 1 at Immaculate Heart of Mary school at 6 yrs old. We went from The Royal Toronto Conservatory of Music to classical and during my final year she suggested a contemporary "Jesus Christ, Superstar" just to spice things up. Before learning any new songs I was always in awe as she played difficult notes without any hesitation or mistakes and would tell me "before we get started with this song, this is how it's suppose to sound". Thank you for sharing your musical talent with me Sister Epiphany. You are now truly a musical angel from heaven! - Posted by: Darlene Joss (Suchynsky) (Music student) on: Apr 12, 2015
